Wright Cycle Company, Dayton, Ohio

The Wright Cycle Company is one of four sites located around Dayton which comprise the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park. It is the restored bicycle shop once owned and operated by Orville and Wilbur Wright, inventors of the first successful airplane. Exhibits in the shop/museum give a fascinating look into the life and times of these two amazing brothers who dared to believe that men could fly like the birds.
It is here that they researched and built the world's first powered-driven, heavier-than-air flying machine. Their invention forever changed the course of human history.Adjacent to The Wright Cycle Company is the Wright-Dunbar Interpretative Center.
The site is open daily 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. It is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. There is a small admission fee.
