Religion plays an important part in the life of Cleveland, Tennessee. With a Christian university (Lee University) and seminary, two church publishing plants, and world headquarters for the Church of God, it does not seem unusual that this relatively small city should be the home of America's largest Christian book store. Pathway Bookstore is owned and operated by the Church of God, which also has Pathway Press and Tennessee Music & Printing Company across town.
This place is so huge that it has a Starbucks Coffee Shop inside. A grand piano sits in one section of the store and Christian recording artists often give live concerts here.
Although Pathway Bookstore is operated by the Church of God, it serves Christians of all denominations. In addition to books, there is a large selections of church supplies and Christian music.

NOTE: Alas, hard time have come. In January, 2009, Pathway Book Store announced that it was going out of business. I'm leaving the above photo and description up for the historical record.
